Pupil Safety

At Southmere Primary Academy, we have created a culture where safeguarding is given the highest priority and pupils are involved in creating a safe environment. Staff are vigilant and trained to identify when a child might be at risk and report their concerns.

Sometimes, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will share our concerns with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that by doing so, we would be putting a child at risk.

We actively support the government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Binns.

Mrs Tempest-Mitchell, Ms Hague, Mrs Hindle and Miss Crowther are our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
