On Friday 20th October 2023 we celebrated our Ofsted result with a Celebration Day!

Southmere Primary, having previously been an ungraded academy after opening as a new school in January 2019, was graded “Good, with Outstanding Personal Development”.

Inspectors commented:

“Pupils at Southmere Primary Academy greet visitors with warmth and kindness. Leaders have created an environment that is vibrant and engaging. The school is a place that pupils enjoy coming to and where they feel safe.“

Leaders have the highest expectations of what pupils can achieve. Their high ambitions for the pupils are at the heart of all their plans and decisions. They know the pupils extremely well. Leaders have a strong commitment to developing pupils into successful and confident citizens.”

We are thrilled with the result and to recognise the hard work of our school community over the last 4 years we decided to mark the event with a Celebration Day. The hall was decorated in gold bunting, gold stars and balloons.

The day started with a whole school assembly, we then had activities and games, at lunchtime there was a street party lunch with disco.

Children, families and staff are delighted that Ofsted have recognised what a truly special place Southmere is.
